Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens to your data when you visit spetschinsky.com. The short version: this is a small, hand-run practice site. There is no advertising and there are no tracking pixels. There is one privacy-first analytics tool, described below, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.

Hosting
This site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify's servers log standard technical data for every visit (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and operational purposes, in line with Netlify's own privacy policy. The only other service that receives anything is Cloudflare, which provides the privacy-first analytics described under "Cookies and analytics" below.
Contact and newsletter forms
The contact form and the newsletter sign-up on this site are handled by Netlify Forms. When you submit either form, the information you enter (name, email, and message, where applicable) is sent to Netlify's form-handling service and forwarded to Sergueï's email inbox. It is used only to reply to your enquiry or, for the newsletter, to send you the updates you signed up for. It is not sold or shared with third parties.
The AI chat assistant
The chat widget on this site is powered by OpenAI. When you type a question into the chat panel, your message is sent to OpenAI's API to generate a reply; it is not used to train OpenAI's models under their API terms. Please don't enter personal or confidential information into the chat, since it leaves this site and is processed by a third-party AI provider. The chat panel carries a short reminder of this every time it opens.
Fonts
The typefaces used on this site (Cormorant Garamond and Inter) are self-hosted: the font files are served directly from this site, not from Google's servers. No data about your visit is sent to any font provider.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies at all, for tracking or anything else, and runs no advertising script. It does not use Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, or any similar tool that follows you between websites.
It does use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which I chose specifically because it is built not to identify anyone. It sets no cookies, uses no browser fingerprinting, and stores no data that could be tied back to you. What it records is the page that was viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, which site referred it, the type of browser and device, and how quickly the page loaded. I use this to see which of my Library documents people actually read, so I know what is worth writing more of.
Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing here to opt out of and no consent banner to click. If you would rather send nothing at all, any standard tracker-blocking extension will block the script, and the site works exactly the same without it. Cloudflare's own account of what the tool does and does not collect is published in their privacy documentation.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, or with any question about this policy, write to contact@spetschinsky.com.
